Board Members

Nancy Whitney | President

Nancy Whitney has served on the Wylie Acting Group board since 2011, as a secretary, Vice President and currently as the President of the organization. She has directed eight shows since joining the board and has helped with makeup and choreography on a multitude of productions. Four of the shows she directed she wrote and has had two of those shows published. She has performed in several shows around the area and has loved every minute of it. She is a realtor with Keller Williams and works at Akin Elementary. She lives in Wylie with her five beautiful children.

Josh Hargrove | Vice President

Josh and his family have been actively involved with WAG since 2016.  No stranger to the stage, Josh developed a love for theater beginning in 6th grade when phones still had wires.  Josh hopes to bring his extensive experience working with children to ensure WAG kids and families have a ton of fun through the magic of theater.  Professionally, Josh is a financial advisor, daily sporting his grown-up costume while helping people manage and plan their lives ahead.  Personally, he enjoys the outdoors, sports, reading, and laughing a lot…mostly at his own jokes.  Most of all, Josh love spending time with his family – wife, Kelly, and four kids, Caleb, Maylea, Lyla, and Tysen.

Tiffany Harrod | Creative Director

Tiffany began her tenure at Wylie Acting Group in the 2011 Season the same way as everyone else, as a parent.  As the current Creative Director for WAG, Tiffany works with the board to set the vision for the season of shows and special events each year.  She develops the media and production materials for shows and the organization, including the playbills and the corporate and accolade ads.  Additionally, she directs a show each season.  In 2016 she directed her first play A Night at the Wax Museum alongside Melissa Harbison.  In 2017 she directed her first musical Miss Nelson is Missing the Musical with WAG President Nancy Whitney.  Tiffany was the President of Wylie Acting Group for Children in 2014 and 2015.  Tiffany lives in Murphy with her talented family who love the arts – husband Carson, son Tanner, and daughter Savannah who are all actively involved with WAG.

Amanda Sturgeon | Secretary

Amanda’s involvement in WAG began in 2014 when one of her son’s auditioned for a play, and the theatre passion took hold.  In her tenure at WAG, Amanda began as a parent volunteer and joined the board in 2016.  She is currently serving as Board Secretary and Marketing Committee Chairperson. Amanda has also filled several production team roles, such as production manager, house manager, and show choreographer.  Amanda and her husband, Jason, live in Wylie with their three children and two dogs.  The entire Sturgeon family (except the dogs) have been active WAG participants for several years and look forward to another epic season!

Melanie Barton | Treasurer

Melanie and her family have loved WAG since its inception and enjoy living in Wylie.  Melanie’s favorite reward is watching local, young thespians find joy and confidence in their hard work.   She works as a member of a private equity group and finds satisfaction in volunteering with WAG and PTA organizations.   She also enjoys her role as wife and mother and travels every chance she gets.

Michelle Smith | Fundraising

Michelle lives in Murphy with her family, and has been a board member since September 2017.  She works full time for a background screening company, serves on two PTA boards, is a WISD Special Needs parent mentor, and volunteers as a group leader and greeter at First Baptist Wylie. Michelle’s daughter Maggie’s love for theatre led the family to WAG in 2016 and the friends made there have become family.

Melissa Irvin | Web Admin | Marketing

Melissa and her family live in Murphy and have been at WAG since 2016.  They have enjoyed being able to participate as a family in several WAG shows.  While the kids are on stage, Dad likes to help out in the sound booth.  Melissa has served in several production roles such as choreography, costumes, production manager and concession stand.  This year Melissa will co-direct her first show Krazy Kamp with fellow board member Michelle Smith. WAG has been a huge blessing to their family and cast mates have quickly become their closest friends.
